Australia 2013 World Stamp Exhibition

The Australia 2013 World Stamp Exhibition have featured  the largest collection of philatelic and numismatic items on show in Australia since 2005  and will be attended by national and international dealers, traders, collectors and postal administrations, including New Zealand Post. 

To celebrate the exhibition, New Zealand Post have released an exhibition miniature sheet and souvenir cover on May 10, 2013. The miniature sheet incorporates stamps from the Queen Elizabeth II - 60th Anniversary of the Coronation stamp issue, set against an image of the exhibition venue - the Royal Exhibition Building and also mark the centenary of the 1913 Kangaroo and Map stamp - Australia’s first national postage stamp.

Along-with the issuance  of  miniature sheet have been  released  the first day cover on the same day.

HUNGARIAN-JAPANESE JUBILEE YEAR

 

In relation to the Hungarian-Japanese jubilee year there will be numerous events presenting the traditional arts and music of the two countries for those interested. As part of the celebrations of the jubilee year Magyar Posta and Japan Post Service Co. Ltd. have issued  a joint stamp issue on October 16, 2009

In relation to the Hungarian-Japanese jubilee year there will be numerous events presenting the traditional arts and music of the two countries for those interested. As part of the celebrations of the jubilee year Magyar Posta and Japan Post Service Co. Ltd. are making a joint stamp issue.

Japanese-Hungarian relations officially began at the time of the Austro-Hungarian empire in 1869. Relations between the two countries, however, only gained real impetus after the change of political system in Hungary in 1989.

One of the most impressive moments of the varied cultural programme will be realised as a symbol of the friendship between the two countries. Elizabeth Bridge over the Danube will be given new floodlighting designed by Ms Motoko Ishii.

Joint issue of Iran, Syria, Turkey and Afghanistan

Iran, Syria, Turkey and Afghanistan have released one stamp as joint stamp issue feature the famous Persian Muslim Poet, Rumi on September 30, 2005.

Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī , also known as Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī , and more popularly in the English-speaking world simply as Rumi (30 September 1207 – 17 December 1273), was a 13th-century Persian Muslim poet, jurist, theologian, and Sufi mystic.

 

 

Iranians, Turks, Afghans, Tajiks, and other Central Asian Muslims as well as the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent have greatly appreciated his spiritual legacy in the past seven centuries. Rumi's importance is considered to transcend national and ethnic borders. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world's languages and transposed into various formats.

His original works are widely read today in their original language across the Persian-speaking world (Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and parts of Persian speaking Central Asia). Translations of his works are very popular in other countries. (Sources: Wikipedia.org)

Golden Jubilee Year of Nepal-Japan Diplomatic Relations

 

In year 2006, Nepal and Japan have celebrated the Golden Jubilee Year  for their Diplomatic Relations. They issued the joint stamp feature the religious temple, Nyatapola Temple and Horyuji Temple.

Nyatapola Temple is a 5 story pagoda located in Bhaktapur, Nepal. The temple was erected by Nepali King Bhupatindra Malla during a 5 month period from late 1701 into 1702.

Nyatapola Temple is the temple of Siddha Laxmi, the Hindu goddess of prosperity.This beautifully sculptured building is considered one of the tallest pagodas in the country and is a lovely example of the immense workmanship that went into buildings of this type. This five-storey temple with a five-tier roof that stands just over thirty meters high can be reached by walking up a flight of steps that leads to the top of the platform.

 

 

Hōryū-ji Temple  is a Buddhist temple in Ikaruga, Nara Prefecture, Japan. Its full name is Hōryū Gakumonji (法隆学問寺), or Learning Temple of the Flourishing Law as  the complex serving as both a seminary and monastery.

The temple's pagoda is widely acknowledged to be one of the oldest wooden buildings existing in the world, underscoring Hōryū-ji's place as one of the most celebrated temples in Japan.

In 1993, Hōryū-ji was inscribed together with Hokki-ji as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name Buddhist Monuments in the Hōryū-ji Area. The Japanese government lists several of its structures, sculptures and artifacts as National Treasures

Beijing International Stamp and Coin Expo 2012

Since its first opening in 1995, the Beijing International Stamp and Coin Expo has developed into one of the most prestigious numismatic and philatelic events in Asia. In 2011 the three-day show attracted over 200 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors.  In 2012, this expo will be held at the Exhibition Hall of the China World Trade Center in Beijing - China's bustling capital city. It will provide an opportunity for Chinese and international exhibitors to showcase their numismatic and philatelic products on a global scale. 

 

New Zealand Post has issued a unique exhibition miniature sheet and souvenir cover to celebrate the expo.  The souvenir miniature sheet incorporates three stamps from the 2012 Year of the Dragon stamp issue set against an image of the Dunedin Railway Station, which also features on one of the stamps. Dunedin was one of the earliest settlements for Chinese immigrants in New Zealand.

200th Anniversary of Franz Liszt's Birthday - Joint Issue Serbia - Hungary

Serbia and Hungary have issued  a join stamp feature Franz Liszt’s , world musician and conductor on June 14, 2011. The issue stamp celebrated 200th Anniversary of his birthday.

 

Liszt became renowned in Europe during the nineteenth century for his virtuosic skill as a pianist.

He was said by his contemporaries to have been the most technically advanced pianist of his age, and in the 1840s he was considered by some to be perhaps the greatest pianist of all time.

Liszt was also a well-known and influential composer, piano teacher and conductor. He was a benefactor to other composers, including Richard Wagner, Hector Berlioz, Camille Saint-Saëns, Edvard Grieg and Alexander Borodin.

To strengthen  their relationship , Tajikistan and Kazakhstan  have released the joint issued stamps on November 29, 2004. The issue consist of two stamps feature  their national musical instruments, Gejak and Adirna.

YEAR OF SPAIN IN RUSSIA AND RUSSIAN IN SPAIN

The proposal to hold the Spain-Russia Dual Year 2011 came at the initiative of the Prime Ministers of the two countries at the International Conference held in the Russian city of Yaroslavl, in September 2009.The proposed objective aims to strengthen scientific relations, culture and education, and to promote economic and trade contacts between Russia and Spain.

 

The Year Dual has been an important step in Spanish-Russian relations and the rapprochement between the two peoples. Among the planned activities include holding forums between universities, ballet and music festivals, the temporary exchange of masterpieces from the Prado Museum (Madrid) and the Hermitage (St. Petersburg), and establish channels of communication between employers to improve contacts between the various sectors, facilitate investment and trade.

Therefore both of Philately countries,  joins the event by issuing a commemorative stamp and  the issued stamp, designed by Lucinda Morrissey, interspersed with vertical stripes colors of the flags of Spain and Russia: red and white in the first strip, yellow and blue in the second, and red in the final stretch with the inscription 2011 year Spain in Russia and Russia in Spain.
