Orchids 1995 (Singapore Exhibition)

Orchidaceae, commonly referred to as the Orchid family, is a morphologically diverse and widespread family of monocots. It is currently believed to be the second largest family of flowering plants (only the Asteraceae is larger), with between 21,950 and 26,049 currently accepted species, found in 880 genera. The number of orchid species equals more than twice the number of bird species, and about four times the number of mammal species. It also encompasses about 6–11% of all seed plants. The largest genera are Bulbophyllum (2,000 species), Epidendrum (1,500 species), Dendrobium (1,400 species) and Pleurothallis (1,000 species).

The family also includes Vanilla (the genus of the vanilla plant), Orchis (type genus) and many commonly cultivated plants like some Phalaenopsis or Cattleya. Moreover, since the introduction of tropical species in the 19th century, horticulturists have produced more than 100,000 hybrids and cultivars.

New Zealand at Philatelic Expo France ‘89

France Post issued the stamp featured the Black Robin (Petroica traversi) in one color separation stamp sheet on July 07, 1989 for commemorating their participation at the International Stamp Expo, Phillexfrance 1989.

The Black Robin or Chatham Island Robin (Petroica traversi) is an endangered bird from the Chatham Islands off the east coast of New Zealand.The Black Robin is a sparrow-sized bird measuring 14–15 cm . Its plumage is almost entirely brownish-black, with a black bill and brownish-black yellow-soled feet.

The species is still endangered, but now numbers around 250 individuals in populations on Mangere Island and South East Island. Ongoing restoration of habitat and eradication of introduced predators is being undertaken so that the population of this and other endangered Chatham endemics can be spread to several populations, decreasing the risk of extinction by natural disasters or similar stochastic events.

Polish Stamp at Phila Nippon ‘91

Polish Post issued one stamp depicted butterfly species, Aporia crataegi, to participate at the International Stamp Exhibition, Phila Nippon’91. Aporia crataegi can found in both country, Poland and Japan.

The Black-veined White (Aporia crataegi) is a large butterfly of the Pieridae family.It is found in orchards and bushes throughout most of Europe except Northern Europe, North Africa, temperate Asia, Korea and Japan.It usually feeds on plants in the genus Prunus. Flight time is between April and July, size is between 56mm and 68mm, and is normally found an altitudes between 500m and 2,000m.

Israel–Vatican Joint Issue.

Israel Post and Vatican Post jointly has issued the stamp depicted the Garden of Getshemane, Jerusalem. The joint issued is only one stamp.

The garden of Getshemane is is a garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem most famous as the place where Jesus and his disciples prayed the night before Jesus' crucifixion.

In the following shown photo of The Garden of Getshemane, Jerusalem. According to the New Testament it was a place that Jesus and his disciples customarily visited, which allowed Judas to find him on the night of his arrest.Overlooking the garden is the Church of All Nations, also known as the Church of the Agony, built on the site of a church destroyed by the Sassanids in 614, and a Crusader church destroyed in 1219. Nearby is the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Mary Magdalene with its golden, onion-shaped domes (Byzantine/Russian style), built by Russian Tsar Alexander III in memory of his mother. Bengal Tiger–Gambia

Gambia Post issued the stamp series of Bengal Tiger for commemorating their participation at The Stamp International Exhibition Indipex 2011. The issuance presented in one sheetlet comprised of 4 stamps and one souvenir sheet comprised of one stamp. All stamps depicted Bengal Tiger which native from India.

In 2010, the population of wild Bengal tigers in the Indian subcontinent is estimated to be fewer than 2,500.The Bengal tiger has been a national symbol of India since about the 25th century BCE when it was displayed on the Pashupati seal of the Indus Valley Civilisation.

The Bengal tiger do not live as family units because the male plays no part in raising his offspring. Tigers mark their territory by spraying urine on a branch or leaves or bark of a tree, which leaves a particular scent behind.Male Bengal tigers fiercely defend their territory from other tigers, often engaging in serious fighting.

The Bengal tiger, or Royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is a subspecies of tiger native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.Males reach maturity at 4–5 years of age, and females at 3–4 years. Mating can occur at any time, but is most prevalent between November and April.

Polish stamp at China 1999

"China 1999" World Philatelic Exhibition held on August 21st-30th 1999 in Beijing, organised at the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic of China.
To commemorate the participation in the Exhibition, the Polish Post introduced a stamp in the form of a block into the market. The stamp represents Chinese ideograms expressing the contents: "China 1999. World Philatelic Exhibition" and fragments of a dragon, constituting a symbol of happiness according to the Chinese mythology. The cover of the block presents the dragon and symbolic sea waves.

Polish stamp at Espaňa 2000

Year 2000 is the 150th anniversary of the issue of the first Spanish post stamp. The World Philatelic Exhibition Espaňa 2000 held at the occasion on October 6th-14th.

The Polish Post, participating in the exhibition, will commemorate the event with an issue of a stamp representing a face of a woman covered by a fan, imitating edges of postal stamps.

The Common Crane (Grus grus), also known as the Eurasian Crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae, the cranes.It breeds in wetlands in northern parts of Europe and Asia. The global population is in the region of 210,000-250,000, with the vast majority nesting in Russia and Scandinavia.It is a long distance migrant wintering in Africa (south to Morocco and Ethiopia), southern Europe, and southern Asia (south to northern Pakistan and eastern China). Migrating flocks fly in a V formation.

It is omnivorous, eating leaves, roots, berries (including notably the cranberry, which is probably named after the species), insects, small birds and mammals.The Common Crane is one of the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) applies.

St. Vincent & The Grenadine Post issued the souvenir sheet which composed of three stamps feature Mammoth for commemorating the participation at Expo 2005 Aichi Japan.

A mammoth is any species of the extinct genus Mammuthus. These proboscideans are members of Elephantidae, the family of elephants and mammoths, and close relatives of modern elephants. They were often equipped with long curved tusks and, in northern species, a covering of long hair. They lived from the Pliocene epoch from around 4.8 million to 4,500 years ago.
