Azerbaijan–Mexico Joint Issue -2010

Azerbaijan Post and Mexico Post collaborated to issue the souvenir sheet featured the heritage building of their country on year 2010.  The sheet have background of their relieves  and flags . Azerbaijan Post issued stamp depicts the Baku Ateshgah meanwhile Mexico Post issued the stamp depicts Teotihuacan.

Teotihuacan is an enormous archaeological site in the Basin of Mexico, containing some of the largest pyramidal structures built in the pre-Columbian Americas. Apart from the pyramidal structures, Teotihuacan is also known for its large residential complexes, the Avenue of the Dead, and numerous colorful, well-preserved murals. The city was thought to have been established around 200 BCE, lasting until its fall sometime between the 7th and 8th centuries CE. At its zenith in the first half of the 1st millennium CE, Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas. At this time it may have had more than 200,000 inhabitants, placing it among the largest cities of the world in this period. The civilization and cultural complex associated with the site is also referred to as Teotihuacan or Teotihuacano. 

 

The Baku Ateshgah  or "Fire Temple" is a castle-like ancient Hindu religious structure in Surakhani, a suburb of greater Baku, Azerbaijan. "Atash" (آتش) is the Persian word for fire.The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetrapillar-altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned after 1883 when oil and gas plants were established in the vicinity. The complex was turned into a museum in 1975 and now receives 15,000 visitors a year. It was nominated for World Heritage Site status in 1998 and was declared a state historical-architectural reserve by decree of the Azeri President on 19 December 2007.

Azerbaijan–Ukrainian Joint Issue -2009

Azerbaijan and Ukrainia has collaborated to issue stamp series features jewels on 18 September 2009. Both countries only issued one stamp. The shown picture represent the miniature sheet consisted of 4 postage stamps from both countries.

Joint issue of Belarus and Azerbaijan -2011

On May 25, 2011 the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Belarus has issued the stamps “Wheel lyra” and “Tar” from the series “Joint issue of Belarus and Azerbaijan. Musical instruments”.

The wheel lyra is an ancient stringed folk instrument of Belarus. In olden times it was played by wandering musicians and blind balladeers.When the musician is in sitting he holds the instrument on his knees, when standing — on a strap over his shoulder. With one hand he pushes the keys playing a melody, with the other hand he turns the protruding wheel which touches the strings creating the permanent accompaniment. The wheel lyra has a strong, sharp, somewhat nasal tone. Its quality is largely depends on the wheel, it must have a precise centring.

The tar is a stringed pizzicato musical instrument widespread in Azerbaijan. This is one of the few national musical instruments for which they specially create musical works.

While playing the musician holds the tar at the breast by his right hand in a horizontal position. With the same hand he plucks the strings by a plectrum. Technical and artistic capabilities of the tar are implemented through trills and different techniques of the plectrum strike.

Azerbaijan–Kazakhstan Joint Issue

Ecology of Caspian sea.

Azerbaijan Post and Kazakhstan Post have collaborated to issue stamps of Ecology of Caspian sea. The stamps depicted fauna of Caspian sea, The Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus), and The Squacco Heron, Ardeola ralloides.

The Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) is the most widespread species of the flamingo family.It is found in parts of Africa, southern Asia and southern Europe.Most of the plumage is pinkish-white, but the wing coverts are red and the primary and secondary flight feathers are black.The bill is pink with a restricted black tip, and the legs are entirely pink. The call is a goose-like honking.

The Squacco Heron, Ardeola ralloides, is a small heron, 44–47 centimetres long, of which the body is 20–23 centimetres ,with 80–92 centimetres wingspan.It is breeding in southern Europe and the Greater Middle East.This is a stocky species with a short neck, short thick bill and buff-brown back. In summer, adults have long neck feathers. Its appearance is transformed in flight, when it looks very white due to the colour of the wings.
