New Zealand – Indipex 2011

New Zealand Post issued a miniature sheet comprises of 3 postage stamps depicts three local nature scenic,  showcasing Mitre Peak, Queenstown and Lake Rotorua , on  February 2011. This issue to commemorate their participation at the World Philatelic Exhibition,  Indipex 2011, India which held on 12 till 18 February 2011.

The miniature sheet has logo of Indipex 2011 and background picture taken from one of three depicted stamp, $1.90.The stamp are set again a backdrop depicting the TSS Earnslaw plying the waters of Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand's South Island

The Pitcairn Islands on Indipex International Stamp Exhibition Delhi

To commemorate the attendance of the Pitcairn Islands Philatelic Bureau at the International Stamp Exhibition in Delhi in February (Indipex 2011), a miniature sheet has been produced featuring important images from both locations. India is represented by the national flower Lotus Nelumbo nucipera gaertn and the internationally known Taj Mahal, while Pitcairn is represented by the endangered Yellow fautu Abutilon pitcairnense. Both flowers have been brought together in this colourful miniature sheet.

Abutilon pitcairnense or Endangered Yellow fautu  remains listed as a critically endangered species (IUCN 2000). The plant itself is described as a sprawling shrub, approximately 1M tall with alternate leaves 13 x 9cm.The flowers are somewhat bell shaped and appear to be nodding. They are yellow with 3cm long petals. The plant is found in scrub on often unstable slopes, and flowers in July / August.

Bengal Tiger–Gambia

Gambia Post issued the stamp series of Bengal Tiger for commemorating their participation at The Stamp International Exhibition Indipex 2011. The issuance presented in one sheetlet comprised of 4 stamps and one souvenir sheet comprised of one stamp. All stamps depicted Bengal Tiger which native from India.

In 2010, the population of wild Bengal tigers in the Indian subcontinent is estimated to be fewer than 2,500.The Bengal tiger has been a national symbol of India since about the 25th century BCE when it was displayed on the Pashupati seal of the Indus Valley Civilisation.

The Bengal tiger do not live as family units because the male plays no part in raising his offspring. Tigers mark their territory by spraying urine on a branch or leaves or bark of a tree, which leaves a particular scent behind.Male Bengal tigers fiercely defend their territory from other tigers, often engaging in serious fighting.

The Bengal tiger, or Royal Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is a subspecies of tiger native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.Males reach maturity at 4–5 years of age, and females at 3–4 years. Mating can occur at any time, but is most prevalent between November and April.

Lotus Stamps at Indipex 2011

Sierra Leone Post issued the stamp series feature Lotus flower  in one souvenir sheet and one sheetlet which comprised of 4 stamps. The issuance are commemorative stamps for their participation at The International Stamp Exhibition, Indipex 2011.

Nelumbo nucifera, known by a number of names including Indian Lotus, Sacred Lotus, or simply Lotus, is a plant in the Nelumbonaceae family.This plant is an aquatic perennial. Under favorable circumstances its seeds may remain viable for many years, with the oldest recorded lotus germination being from that of seeds 1300 years old recovered from a dry lakebed in northeastern China.

Native to Tropical Asia, and Queensland, Australia ^.it is commonly cultivated in water gardens. The white and pink lotuses are national flowers of India and Vietnam, respectively.
