2007 is a special year in the process of building one ASEAN community of peace, development and prosperousness.
In the past 40 years, ASEAN has made quite many changes of quality, style and content in co-operation. That makes it become a regional co-operative organization most successful in the world.
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN’s foundation, on August 8, 2007, the Vietnam’s Ministry of informatics and communications (MIC) issued the stamp set “ASEAN joint stamp issue” consisting of 10 values of 800d each, presenting each monumental building of ASEAN countries.
Name of each monumental building which have been depicted on each stamps shown in the following :
Value 10-1: Secretariat building, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
Value 10-2: National museum of Cambodia, kingdom of Cambodia .
Value 10-3: Fatahillah museum, Jakarta, Indonesia
Value 10-4: Lao typical house, Lao p.d.r
Value10-5: Malayan railway headquarters building, Kualalumpur, Malaysia
Value 10-6: Yangon post office. Myanmar
Value 10-7: Malacanang Palace. Philippines
Value 10-8: National Museum of Singapore, Singapore
Value 10-9: Vimanmek Mansion, Bangkok, Thailand
Value 10-10: Presidential Palace, Hanoi, Vietnam
Besides stamp sheet of each value, there is one block of 10 different values to show the solidarity of ASEAN community. This ASEAN joint issue stamp set for the first time becomes a meaningful gift of Vietnam Posts and telecommunications branch to the 40th ASEAN anniversary.
